Soil Reinforcement Units for Retaining Structures

The stability of reinforced soil retaining structures is based on the interaction of tensile elements (armature) and the surrounding backfilled soil. Their execution is done by the embankment behind the front side of the retaining structure being combined with tensile elements such as geomesh, traps etc. The front side of the structure serves to prevent local erosion and has an aesthetic function but does not significantly contribute to the stability of the overall structure.

Key Technical Specifications:

  • Wire Diameter: 2.5mm to 4mm.
  • Mesh Size: Standard 80mm x 100mm or customized as needed.
  • Coating Thickness: Zinc coating of 230-275 gsm for enhanced protection.
  • Box Dimensions: Available in standard sizes like 2m x 1m x 1m, customizable upon request.
  • Tensile Strength: 38-50 kN/m.

Advantages:

  • Corrosion Resistance: Zinc coating protects the steel from rust and environmental degradation.
  • Eco-Friendly: Can be filled with locally sourced materials, reducing environmental impact.
  • Versatile Application: Suitable for various applications like riverbanks, retaining walls, and landscaping.
